What Do You Really Want?

Like most of you, I enjoyed myself during this past weekend's holiday festivities. Every 4th of July always means BBQ food and some adult beverages.

That's ok.

Everything in moderation, right?

I also use this time of year to reflect as we're at the halfway point of the year.

I reassess my goals that I set out in January, adjust, and outline what I want the rest of 2016 to look like.

I suggest you take some time this week to do the same.

But it got me thinking...

What do you really want?

Just like you, I have my own fitness goals.

I want to drop about 15lbs before my wedding in October.

Why?

I thought about that while I was reflecting this past weekend.

Sure, there are some health benefits for my height I should be at a certain weight, decreasing chances for metabolic disease, etc.

However, if you go a few layers deep, it really comes down to two words.

Confidence and Happiness.

I really want to lose those 15lbs so that I'm confident as I stand in front of my friends and family and marry my best friend.

I want happiness.

I'm not 100% sure what each of you wants deep down, but I assume it's not a number on the scale, a pant size, or a time on a race.

You want the emotion and feeling that comes along with the number.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still weighing in each week, dialing in my nutrition, and will hit my goal of 15lbs by October.

However, it's important to remember the WHY behind that goal. Sure I want to look nice on the big day, but what I really want is confidence and an even deeper happiness than I already have.

In my opinion, much of life is dialing in what makes you happy.

So...

I challenge you to spend some time searching and thinking about what you really want.

Sure it may start with a numeric goal, but keep asking yourself why, dig a couple layers deep, and I bet you it comes down to a certain emotion or feeling.

Let me know how it goes...

I hope you have a great rest of your week, and I'll be back in a few more days with some more life-changing tips :)

Dedicated to Your Success,
