At our facility right now we're doing a #100WorkoutChallenge.
It started July 1st and goes through the end of the year, 6 months long, trying to get in 100 workouts.
For those who have followed us for some time now you know one of our umbrella philosophies is it's not about the quick-fix, it's not about the detoxes, it's not about the gimmicky stuff, it's about building long-term healthy habits.
But here's why we like the #100WorkoutChallenge and our other challenges that we do like our 15 Day Jump-Start and our Strong(her) in Six Weeks Transformation Challenge...
Life and fitness is a series of sprints and marathons.
There's going to be times in the next six months where you aren't on point with your nutrition.
There's going to be times in the next year where you miss a week or two of workouts.
There's going to be times in your life when things just aren't going your way.
And that's ok because....
There's also going to be stretches where your nutrition is on point.
There's going to be times when you get in 3-4 workouts a week.
There's going to be times when you feel like you're on cloud nine in life.
We always focus on the times when we're down, the times when we're off track.
But what about the stretch of 3 weeks where you were crushing it? You probably didn't even pat yourself on the back.
Sprints and marathons.
We like things like the #100WorkoutChallenge because it's about the bigger picture.
It's great that you were on point for one month, but what about the other five?
On the flip side, it's ok if you were off track for a couple weeks here, because you have plenty of time to buckle down and "sprint" for awhile.
Our challenges like the 15 Day Jump Start and the Strong(her) in Six Weeks Transformation Challenge are great ways to put your head down and sprint for awhile.
Get back on track.
Will you be able to maintain that level of accountability and commitment year round? Probably not.
But you'll be further ahead after doing that sprint then if you were just walking.
My concluding point is this...
Life is a series of sprints and marathons. Sometimes you'll be on track, be able to put your head down, and get some great results. Other times you'll just be jogging along, maybe maintaining, and trying to figure things out in other aspects of life. At the end of the day, both are okay, and the bottom line is are you moving forward?
1% Better, right?
Dedicated to Your Success,
Doug Spurling
