Which One Are You?

I remember when I was getting ready go graduate from high school, I didn't even think I wanted to go to college.

The hospital I was working at the time had just hired a physical therapist from the University of New England. 

She encouraged me to go check it out, so I took the drive up there on a weekend. 

I saw the ocean and fell in love. 

Growing up in the cities of Massachusetts, "waterfront" wasn't anything spectacular for me, and there was something about the ocean that sold me. 

The rest is history they say...

What is it about the ocean that is so powerful?

It is it the water?

Or is it something else?

It has to be more than just water because I don't get excited about a puddle in the street.

So it got me thinking...

Which one are you?

A puddle, or the ocean?

Think about it...

A puddle is "messy"...

A puddle gets stepped on....

A puddle has no impact....

In comparison...

The ocean. 

It's powerful...

It's a motivator...

It moves things...

It creates...

It doesn't let anything get in its way...

Which one do you want to be?

Relate it to the journey of fitness...

Are you going to be a puddle that just goes through the motions, is messy and disorganized, and doesn't put in an effort to make an impact?

Or are you going to be an ocean that takes charge, raises all ships, and moves things? 

When you hear the words of...

Strength...

Empowerment...

Powerful...

Confident...

I don't know about you, but I don't think of a puddle. 

I think of an ocean! 

When things get tough, which they will think of an ocean. 

Be strong, be powerful, and push your way through it. 

I love small analogies like this as it helps me think of things in a positive way when we need it in life, so I hope you enjoy them too.
