"So many of us set impossible standards to maintain."

This really caught my eye this morning--so true in every aspect of our lives. 

Who else finds it challenging to get back into the swing of things after being on vacation? After having school vacation last week, even kids can struggle with grounding themselves and getting back into the routine they were in just 7 short days ago......

I thought we could start simple today so I am sharing this easy, yet extremely beneficial tip. It's wonderful to have some time off and to splurge a bit but we all know that 'just one' doughnut with breakfast leads to 'just one' cookie after lunch and maybe a handful of chips in between lunch and dinner......

I'm on vacation......I'll be better next week, she said. ;)

Well, it's not always that easy. If you find yourself working upstream again, then slow down, use this little tip to prep some healthy snacks for those times that you are grabbing at anything to put in your mouth.

Be mindful. Be aware. Set Manageable Standards. Be prepared.

 

                                                     INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 large egg, hard boiled
  • 1 carrot, cut into 1/2-inch sticks
  • 2 celery stalks, halved
  • 3 slices Braeburn apple
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 ounce sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1 Ozery Bakery Morning Round Pita Bread, Muesli

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place egg, carrot, celery, apple, peanut butter, cheese and pita bread into meal prep containers.
