What is Spurling FITNESS?

From the outside, we look like any gym or fitness facility but we are much more. Spurling exists to impact, empower, and change the lives of those who are intimidated by the typical gym through strong coaching, continual accountability, a family-like community, and a desire to get 1% better each and every day. 

Our personal approach and focus on our clients is what makes us different. We do not simply sign you up, take your money and throw you out on the floor to figure it out.

Every single one of your workouts is supervised by one of our coaches!

What services do you offer? How do things work?

We start everybody off with a personal Success Session. During this 45-60 minute meeting with one of our coaches we'll learn more about you, see what you're looking for, answer your questions, and give you an overview of what we would recommend for you. After that, every single one of our clients has a workout plan customized for them based on their goals, interests and lifestyle.  We call this approach Small Group Personal Training. This is your foundation. We are staffed with a 5-6:1 client to coach ratio so there is always a coach on the floor with you, readily available to answer questions and to provide encouragement and motivation.  Our clients find this works really well as they get specialized attention but have the camaraderie of being with others. So not only do you get the benefit of the coaches’ attention, you’ll see it’s not uncommon for members to be supporting and encouraging each other as well. These sessions run all day long, and you just pick a time that works well for you. 

To supplement your small group personal training, we have our Team Training. This group workout is for those who are looking for a challenge and want to experience a high energy workout in a safe, fun, team environment. The groups are capped at 20 people, and equipped with kettle bells, suspension trainers, sleds, battling ropes and a slew of other fun fitness equipment. You and your teammates will experience the ultimate rush, as a team, as you sweat, laugh and burn fat to reach your full potential. Our Team Training occurs every day of the week, as well as we host a charity version once a month on a Saturday morning. 

We also recommend that all of our clients use our MYZONE Heart Rate Monitoring System. MYZONE is an ultra-cool monitoring system that tracks/displays in real time (displays in our club monitors and on your phone) the EFFORT of the individual wearing it. We then coach, challenge, motivate, and inspire using this super-fun tool to help you get to your fitness goal.  We  design various week and month long challenges in individual, team, and even club events to game-ify your fitness using this wearable technology. MYZONE also tracks outside of the club too, so just another way to keep you motivated and hold you accountable. 

In addition to these two offerings, all our clients receive nutritional guidance. We'll work on changing those eating habits to get you the results you want. We also host educational seminars to keep you super smart. Finally, we truly care if you show or not. We want to help you. We'll track your attendance, hold you accountable,  and give you a little poke via phone and/or e-mail to keep you on track should you fall off. 

The bottom line is fitness should be fun. It should be safe. It should be individualized. Our goal is to provide a non-intimidating family atmosphere where the hour that you're here is the best our of your day. 

Why do you have "coaches"?

We don’t use the word “coach” lightly.  We take the title and all that it implies very seriously.  We know what you are doing is hard, and if we truly want to help you change your life, we need to play an active role in that change. As a client of Spurling, you are part of our team, our family.  We are here to help you with the exercise portion of the change as well as the other keys to your success; nutrition guidance, stress management, and whatever else we can do to help. 

What are your hours and schedule?

Our doors are open from 5:30 am-7:00 pm, Monday-Friday and Saturdays 7:30 am – 11:30 am. However, as one of the keys to your success is accountability, we require all of our clients to schedule their workouts, rather than just drop in.  We are tech-friendly though so we offer you the ability to schedule via an online app or you can drop us an e-mail or give us a call.  Knowing when you are coming in assures that our team is ready to make the hour you are with us the best hour of your day. 

I'm a little nervous, I have a previous injury. Is this for beginners too?

Of course! We are equipped and happy to work with anyone and everyone, from the deconditioned "never worked out before" to people with disabilities, to the lifelong athlete. Am I on my own or do I have help?

From the very first day we set you up on a program, everything is figured out for you. From your nutrition, fitness, and supplements, everything is fine tuned and planned out specifically for you and your fitness goal. We'll guide you as to when to come, which sessions to attend, and of course what to do when you're here. Most importantly we hold you accountable to your said goals. Yes, all we do is help.
