Last week we had our sign guy come down and put up some new wall decor in the lobby.
We have some more plans, but it was a good addition as we haven't added anything to spruce up the walls since moving into the building over a year ago.
To some, it may just seem like two vinyl stickers on the wall, but to us, we thought long and hard about them, we live them every day, and they mean the world to us.
Under our logo, you'll find "We Change Lives."
One of the best books I've ever read was "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek. I recommend everyone reads it.
The cliff notes of it are that we all know what we want to do and how to do it, but we rarely know why we want to do it.
Simon challenges you to get connected to your why, the reason why you are doing something, and then and only then will you achieve the greatest success.
This is true in fitness journeys...why do you want to lose that weight?
This is true in your financial journey...why do you want to make that much money?
This is true in business.
Some could say Spurling is a business. Some could say Spurling is a gym.
However, we believe...
Spurling exists to impact, empower, and change the lives of those who are intimidated by the typical gym environment through strong coaching, relentless accountability, a family-like community, and a desire to get 1% better each and every day.
So sure, we're a business, we're a gym, but why we exist is to change lives.
That's what drives us every day. It's what makes us tick.
That's our why.
What's your why?
The other line is the last thing you'll see every day as you leave the gym.
It's how I sign off all my e-mails, you saw it in the bolded sentence above, and you hear us preach it all the time.
This industry is filled with quick-fix bullshit that empties your pockets and doesn't deliver on promises.
We believe the best way to achieve anything is to get 1% better, every day.
When you leave the gym you just got 1% better.
By me writing every morning I'm getting 1% better.
By you preparing your meals you're getting 1% better.
Success in anything is never an instant gratification, it's the sum of small tasks stacked on top of each other.
It's getting 1% better.
Are you getting 1% better every day?
So there you have it.
To some, it may be two new stickers on the wall.
To us, it's everything.
Dedicated to Your Success,
