The Power...

I'm back fresh and renewed after a great workshop down in Boston will some fellow gym owners.

I always love going to events like this because, although it's a busy weekend of the workshop during the day and late night dinners, I always come back fired up, renewed, and have a plethora of ideas to improve the experience at Spurling, and for our team.

Although we were talking about building out a marketing calendar, cash flow management, leadership, and other "biz" stuff, one of my biggest takeaways was...

The power of groups.

I could have sat in a room by myself and worked on getting better, but the energy, the ideas tossed around, and the excitement of a small group of people building each other up is what makes it so exciting.

I think that power is so true in our fitness community as well...

The number one is the loneliest number.

There's something intangible about groups that just propels you forward when you feel like you're stuck in quicksand.

When you walk into the gym and there are people to hold your hand...

When you walk into the gym and there are people excited to see you...

When you walk into the gym and there are people just like you going through a journey of their own...

When you walk into the gym and there are people who want to help you.

To quote my friend Michael..."people who actually give a shit."

The power of a group can change the world.

My challenge to you, whether you're here a part of the Spurling Family or not, is to become a part of something that is bigger than yourself.

Only then will you realize your own potential, and only then will your possibilities be endless.

This could be a coach at the gym, this could be workout buddies, this could be a co-worker or this could be you just saying hi to someone you've never met before.

The power of groups is amazing, and I'm fortunate to see the magic of them every day both with our clients and with our team.

Know that there's someone out there who can't wait to be a part of your group, and they're just waiting for you to extend your hand and say "come with me!"

Dedicated to Your Success,

Doug Spurling
