Don't Let This Happen...

It's 5:00am on a Wednesday and I am at the gym early getting some e-mails done before anybody else gets here...

As I sit in the lobby writing this daily e-mail it got me thinking...

"Don't let perfectionism become procrastination."

I was thinking back to five years ago to when I first opened Spurling.

If I waited until the perfect moment or waited until the perfect business model was developed...

I'd still be waiting!

This daily e-mail is another example.

On July 1st I evaluated all of my goals in 2016 to make sure I was on track at the halfway point of the year.

Some of them were getting hit out of the park, and some not so much.

One of them was to write more consistently.

It's a passion of mine.

So, I set a goal for myself.

After my morning reading and coffee, I would write.

Some days that means waking up at 4:00am so I can read from 4-5am, before writing from 5-530am.

No excuses.

That's why you hear from me every day now :)

It's not perfect. It never will be.

But I know every day I get an e-mail or a comment in the gym from someone who really resonated with what I sent out, and that's all that matters to me.

So how does this apply to you?

How does it not apply to you is more like it?

"Don't let perfectionism become procrastination."

The time will pass whether you do something or not.

There will never be a perfect time to make that change, join that gym, start that program, try that new thing in life.

There will always be something or someone telling you no.

Or my favorite...

"I have to get in shape first before I join the gym or start that program."

Isn't that what it's for :)

The moment will never be right.

In fitness...

In your career...

In your family...

In your life...

But please don't let perfectionism become procrastination.

Now go take some action and get 1% better.

Dedicated to Your Success,

Doug Spurling
